In 1994, after 16 years in health care management, I opened an 'Antique/Junk' store called Wits End. Soon after I acquired some sample tiles. I used them to mosaic the bathroom door in my shop and soon I was hooked and all of my customers wanted to know how to do it too! Soon I started looking for tiny mosaic tiles to sell to my students and Wits End Mosaic was born. Smalti.com and Murano Millefiori followed. I imported and distributed all kinds of mosaic tiles and the experience helped me become familiar with nearly every type of mosaic element made. Now I am back to teaching and making art.
I love all mediums and all styles of mosaic. I am self-taught but have also studied in Italy and Mexico. I am most enthralled with Mexican smalti, portraits, mixed media and "Memory Ware". Being immersed in the process of mosaic is so rewarding; it is impossible to think about stressful things or problems while doing mosaic. It is the very best form of therapy!
I am available for consultations, custom orders and private instruction. I am also available to architects, mosaicists and homeowners who want large scale private or public art. Mozaic Arts has a plethora of mosaic books and catalogs to inspire the artist or help the homeowner visualize a future project. Stop by anytime!
